The rug's borders are to be used as runners and the field is to be rebound and refringed into its own smaller rug. The rug is a valuable Turkish oushak and should be preserved upon cleaning and repair work.

Jafri Rug weavers will cut the borders of each side of the rug and make them into runners. The central field of the rug will then be rebound and refringed and will be shrunk down to a smaller size.
This is a custom job that requires enormous precision. All work is done by hand.
