A Lillihan, a rare gem from the Sarouk family, is a prized rug no longer in production. Given its antiquity, dating back to the late 1800s or early 20th century, this rug requires extensive preservation work. It has significant damage, with holes through the foundation and the warp and weft completely destroyed, demanding skilled restoration to restore its former glory.
Jafri Rugs will dedicate approximately 6 months, from cleaning to restoration, to carefully complete the following:
Entire field reweaving to restore the rug’s design and integrity.
Fringe implants using authentic circa 1900 fringe to maintain historical accuracy.
Rebinding across the length side of the rug to reinforce and preserve its structure.

I bless the day I found Mr Jafri. As one who has collected rugs for 50 years, I both learned about their value and origins and had them beautifully cleaned and repaired.
Very beautiful rugs there, would have been a difficult decision. Only needed a rug pad this time. When we're in the market again, this is where we'll go. Pete, Delmar, NY
